Well I bit the bullet and made an appointment with the GP about the pigmentation change either side of my spine. I spoke to a nurse practitioner who said that as it started a three weeks after starting Hydroxychloroquine, it was most probably that. She said skin changes are a side effect of this medication. I’m seeing the rheumatologist consultant on the 25th, so she suggested speaking to him about it.
Another side effect to deal with then!! 🙄🙄🙄

Hi Kati66, I've been on these for about 10 yrs and have never had any side affects. This is the only drug that helped me and I tried a lot. So if it's working and not doing any harm I would stick with it.

Hi kati66, I’m sorry that you have this problem it must be worrying for you, I’ve been on the drug for several years and not had this happen to me. I hope the consultant will be able to help.
It would be good to know what it is about hydroxychloroquine that can cause skin changes. Let us know what you find out at your appointment with the consultant.
