Not RA

Hi all. Had some good-ish news. Just back from my 1st Rheumatology appt. They say I don't have RA, but degenerating tendons(Tendinopathy), fibromyalgia, and a bit of OA. Probably brought on by stress(wife's MPN progressing)and being over 40 but working like I'm still 20.

Good news, bad news eh? I wish you and your lady wife all the very best. I hope you find your new group but, in the meantime, there's no need to leave here. A lot of our group have experienced your problems and would be happy to help 🙂

Thanks, I'll stick around. Pain is pain. Doesn't matter what label it has. I have been given lots of gentle exercises to do. And I'll probably stop taking co-codamol, it doesn't really help much. I'd rather be able to relax with a can of beer in the evening.

It never made a difference to me, but I was a bit ‘trippy’ when I stopped.

I take Amitriptyline for my Fibro and it has worked a treat (20mg per day before 7pm).

I’m pleased you’re going to stick around. You’re so right pain is pain and although you’ve been told you don’t have RA it sounds as though you’re still going to have some challenging times. When that happens you’re welcome to vent on here you will still have some knowledge for the forum to share no doubt coz I know for one I suffer terribly with tendon issues and fibro too. So the label may be different but not the frustration at times.

I just wrote a really long reply to this, then accidentally deleted it. Can't remember what it said now 🙄
