sorry I know I’m moaning but boy it has been torture with the weather. The humidity is crippling and the rain only made it worse. I have not left the house for over a week. Walking to the toilet I break out in a sweat and become weak and dizzy. Pins and needles in my hands and feet hurt and is spreading up my legs . Nothing feet’s clothes or shoes as I’m so swollen.
hope you all are doing ok or even enjoying the weather if it suits you .
Moan over !!

I hear you J and I am so sorry and just wished we could get rid of this humidity as it is awful isn't it. No need to apologise as fellow sufferer here. Lets hope it breaks soon and we can have a life! Take care xx
Same here, I'm fed up. we get thunder and the works then the temperature goes back up, it's the humidity that is draining, making me swell up and sweat like I'm in a sauna. So you have my absolute empathy on this. xx
Much sympathy for you. This weather may suit some but does some of us no favours. I reckon I look like the love child of a puffer fish and a bullfrog at the moment.
Hubby found me yesterday both feet in very sanitised old cat litter trays filled with water and ice and standing in front of our huge floor fan swaying with the fan to cool down!
My pains have been off the charts this week, hadn’t considered it may be the humidity contributing to it. I seen the rheumatology nurse last week, I’d seen her in oct when I was starting to struggle, and she said she couldn’t do anything and I needed to see the rheumatologist by March. Appointment never materialised and when I chased there’s nothing till September, so seen her again, with the same reply. Although when I asked if I could even have a short course of steroids, as I’m due to go on holiday and can barely walk, she said she’d ask and get it sent out in the post. I won’t hold my breath, he’s as useful as a chocolate teapot.
To add to my issues I have severe adrenal insufficiency and can’t tolerate heat. I have a fan in every room, including 1 around my neck. So I feel your pain. Roll on Autumn
So sorry to hear you’re suffering so badly bless you. I think you have our weather in the UK. I’m in Cyprus now & for 2 weeks & it’s been cold & windy & rain yesterday. Very happy to swap with you! I’m sure it will start raining when I get home to UK. My daughter suffers terribly with the heat & has a dehumidifier in her room along with a fan. She finds it helps. X
Sorry. I believe it’s still hot there. Our weather changed yesterday & now I’m complaining it’s too hot & my feet are swollen! We will enjoy the rest of our break thank you x
J1707 I know exactly how you feel, body is aching so much. Was in so much pain the other week I had to go into Whiston, blood test showed I had clots in my body, so they had to put me on thinners whilst there. They also found something on my right lung, which first showed up in January from the rvs. I'm told its not cancer, but will need to be closely watched. I go to the bedroom from my bathroom and it's agony. But keep going, you are stronger than you think!
It’s odd isn’t it. I used to think it was our cold damp weather that made me creaky but then I discovered I’m every bit as creaky in hot weather only probably the worse because as my husband always points out ‘I have a defective body thermostat’. On the whole I find it easier to warm myself up than to cool myself down. So heat definitely isn’t the answer for me. ☹️
I think I’ve got one of those thermostats too.I used to be a sun worshipper but not any more.My nurse says it’s a combination of ‘getting on’,,I’m 78 ..and having RA.I agree about it being easier to keep warm in winter, but in this hot humid weather it doesn’t seem to matter how many clothes you don’t wear.
It’s not just you J1707, I don’t leave the house while it’s this hot as I just can’t cope with the heat now. About 5 years ago before I was diagnosed, I loved sunbathing and was a real sun worshipper all my life. Now though, anything above 20 degrees is too much for me. I bought a parasol to keep me in the shade but when it’s hot I feel really ill and just stay in the house, which luckily stays quite cool in most rooms.
My blinds and curtains are closed during the day, windows open. In the evening once the sun has gone down, I open the curtains and blinds and close the windows. I'm definitely a vampire.
You are all going to HATE me 🙄 but I LOVE this weather!, my body loves it, the hotter& more humid the better for me but the Winter 🥶 has me hibernating! But I do sympathise with you all xx
I’m the same hate this humidity. I’m walking around with a hand fan permanently glued to my hand can’t even make a cuppa without looking I’ve just taken a shower. Off to Jersey at weekend for hols so hopefully by the coast will be better 😎🙄
Good to have a moan - I think many of us are feeling it just now in the humidity. We had rain last night for the first time in weeks but still very humid this morning.
Hi I know they can be expensive but we use dehumidifiers in our bungalow, we got them mostly for condensation in the winter, but still use them in the summer, the amount of water they collect out of the air is quite considerable I'm not sure this would help, but I haven't been swelling up as much, I don't think, best wishes Sarah
I’ve been shut indoors with all windows closed and blinds pulled down so I’ve definitely felt the heat but not because of my RA. For some reason I’ve had hay fever really badly this year. I do get funny looks when I have to go out like this morning for blood tests as I’ve found wearing a good medical mask when out helps a lot. I take it off as soon as I go indoors, hence the funny looks. It was the opposite in the pandemic.
Moan away. I have said to ones who ask if I prefer the heat I explained my muscles like it but as with both extremes of weather hot or cold it takes my body energy to deal with, leaving less energy to cope with my other symptoms.
Also notice I feel more fainty so upped my liquids , my BP errs to low already. It's all grim eh?
I do feel for you. Do you think that these conditions are a bit manageable in Autumn, Spring and maybe Winter months with heat on indoors? This is such an interesting matter.
heat and humidity is my true hell. Winter crisp and cold is my heaven . Stormy rainy weather kicks off my Fibro. Very small window for heaven. Weather definitely effects many of us .
I'm late to your post, but I'm with you regarding the weather. Complete misery for weeks, my hair is permanently damp with sweat, I'm bloated, hot, breathless and like a big red balloon.Hopefully the weather it will break soon.
