hi I am struggling with severe headaches at back of the skull 💀 most day’s It’s like a knife stabbing pain It has been on going since October, I have had a mri on head and a X-ray on neck also my muscles in my neck are very tight which is very limiting my daily task’s the doctor who I’ve seen 3 times says there’s nothing he can find wrong but says could b muscler skeletal I know I have RA and OA the doctor says he was sending a letter to my RA specialist to see if they can suggest something but as yet I’ve not heard a thing I wondered if anyone has suffered with the same problem and have any advice

sounds very nasty for you. I do get headaches from muscle tensions sometimes but not like this. I would say maybe ask for a physio referral? They are good with musculoskeletal issues and could maybe give exercises or hydrotherapy or something.

Get your gp to send you for an mri scan, if there's anything wrong it will show up they have the means to check but seem to idle or not interested these days sad to say.

I’ve had mri on head and X-ray on neck doc says mild muscler skeletal Possibly I’m doing neck and shoulder physio Best I can if I not heard from doc I will go back in next few weeks it needs sorting

It does sound like a compression of the nerves there. If the x-ray and mri are normal then I would see a physio or registered osteopath. Good luck!

I have had this but my X-rays showed up loss of discs and bone spurs in my neck joints. The pain went right up into my head and caused spasms across my shoulders. The only thing I found helped was acupuncture, it was like a miracle going for a session. Expensive but worth the relief if only for a week or so. Unfortunately mine worsened and I was prescribed amitriptyline by my GP which has lessened the symptoms enough so I can sleep ok and as long as I don’t aggravate it the pain is bearable. I hope you find some relief soon as I know how debilitating it is.
