I’m in Nhs Scotland and have an appointment on April 13. Very reassuring

I’m giving it a miss…I am eventually getting my Rtx infusion on 5 April, & no way am I having any sort of vaccine jab for a few months…probably not until the Autumn Flu jab comes around.

I had Covid once- not too badly- a couple of months ago & my rheumy agrees giving it a miss this time is the way to go - for me.

I hope you stay well. I'm still getting people to test before they visit - but that's me, I'm ok with a bit of distance from people, although I do have plans for the occasional exhibition. My next covid jag is on the 13th and ritiximab is as soon as i need it, which will be suitably distanced from the jag.

I am thinking the virus seems to calm down in Summer. My last Rtx infusion was January 2022…..too close to a Covid jab the previous November…so it stopped being effective. I’m fed up living on pain killers that don’t give any protection to my poor aged joints! So here’s hoping it works this time…especially as the clinic has been moved to 20 miles away rather than 5! Good Luck with your next infusion.

Yes I reckon its us socialising outdoors which makes the difference in summer. Hope you get your infusion when you want and that it works. My rheumy said that I should send him an SOS as soon as I thought I'd need it, so I'm trying to leave it as long as I can. So far so good.

Well I have had to wait longest gap I have had….the longest before was 8 months, but I had nasty reactions to first taking a non RA drug, then even worse symptoms after coming off it…then I had carpal tunnel surgery in February,& hey presto 15 months has sped by!

I just hope I am one of the lucky ones & picking it up again works. My rheumy has been very good keeping in touch to see if I was well enough to have it.

Now I’m off to throw some plants in pots…they were due to arrive next week, but turned up on Friday & today is the first day it hasn’t rained all day…but it is cold….so it will be a very hurried planting!

I cant remember where you stay, we're in Edinburgh, just back from a week in the Highlands where Saturday was cloudless and amazingly warm. I only start feeling that I need my next infusion when someone asks, so I'm trying to set that aside. About 8 months is usually ok. Sounds like you've had quite a rough time so I hope you're good with the next infusion. X

I’m on the edge of the Cotswolds,Gloucester/Warks borders. We did have one warm day last week!

I really, reallly do hope the Rtx kicks in….I don’t want to get back to trying one drug after another having had 6 great years on Rtx,

Thank you for that I have just got over Omicrone Covid and it was painful and Horrid. I have been left with chest infection . I prefer to have Vaccine I don't want it Covid again. I see my Reumy om the 11th will see what they say. It took 14 days to get Negative result.

Thanks. I rang 119 yesterday and the girl said I couldn't book until 17th. So straight away there is conflicting information! I'll try anyway on 5th. I haven't thought about Covid much at all lately (I've had six shots, last one mid September and Covid) but seeing the Guidance stating clearly that people with Rheumatoid arthtitis are more at risk gave me the old feeling of fear again. Hope I've still got some antibodies floating around, I've been out and about as normal now for so long.

you can book from the 5th but the appointments are only available from the 17th. So they are correct. 🤗

Yes that was my understanding, but the girl said I couldn't book until 17th. Didn't argue

I think the dates are different here in Scotland. That's all.

I’ve only managed 4 but had covid in January and paid for antibodies screening and was very pleased to see that the result was over 25K I know that can wane so I will perhaps wait until autumn as I’m still trying to stabilise my RA. Interestingly I had an pneumovax vaccine to see if I managed a response and failed it miserably again so don’t know enough about vaccines to know if there’s any point in having covid ones and immuno aren’t sure 🤷‍♀️

A month or so ago I phoned the Welsh vaccination centre to see what the procedure for the Spring booster is, to be told that I would be notified by letter as with previous covid vaccinations. They also said I should expect to be notified in June or July, which will be 8 or 9 months after my Autumn booster. I believe the minimum time-gap between vaccinations is 6 months, so 2 - 3 months on top does seem to stretch things a bit. Can't say I'm particularly bothered by that as Summer is around the corner, but if it was the Autumn booster we were talking about and not the Spring when Covid is more active, then I'd be more concerned.

I got my appointment through my phone yesterday. And I was surprised 😮, I had said I wasn't going to get any more vaccines as they make me ill for around 3 days everytime I have had one . Now my mind is telling me I must go get it , but my heart's tells me what if I'm ill again and more importantly......is it Worth it ?? . XX Take Care everyone XX

I’ve just received my invite via the NHS app - I’m really surprised because I’m not immunosuppressed, only on hydroxychloroquine. But I’m not going to say no!
