In 13 years of injecting MTX I’ve never had a wound like that. Definitely one to report to your Rheumy Cheryl. You do need to inject into alternate sides though, that should have been explained when you switched. I only inject into my tum, I tried my thigh even though I wasn't shown to do it there but I bruised & felt it so never did it again. When I receive my months worth of MTX I write on R or L on the box so I don't need to wreck my brain thinking which side I injected the week before.

just a thought, you’re not finding mtx drops left on your leg after the injection finishes are you?

hi a good thought but know I wipe after thanks anyway

what are you wiping with as mtx is cytotoxic so care should be taken.

I use antantiseptic wipes after but thanks

Please keep that clean and use an antiseptic wipe or spray on it. That looks a bit too pink!

I was told not to use the wipes incase I had a reaction. They wouldn't know if it was the drug or the wipes causing it. I've been injecting for around 12 years now and I've never used a wipe.

I don’t use wipes before or after injecting either. But if I had something that looked slightly pink, puffy and weeping that’s a different matter. All cuts and scrapes no matter how small I clean.

Hi there, I was told fine to use a fragrance free wipe (I use Simple) or just a cotton wool disc dampened with warm water to wipe and let it dry thoroughly before injecting, and not alcohol wipes as I can and due react to anything with too much alcohol like astringents on the skin.

10 years injecting- never had anything more than an occasional bruise., I think you should send that pic to rheum doc and nurse.

I have on occasions when my hands are not as steady so the needle doesn't enter the site straight on but at an angle. Mine is more of a scratch not had that sore looking site like you. Wonder if a recheck of data sheet that comes with it or a refresh with the nurse next RA appt? I find sometimes when my hands aren't as good I take my time to do the injection to try to minimise movement.
