Benapali injections
I've been on Benipali for 13 months and have not experienced this.
Been on benepali for a long time now but have noticed I'm a bit more breathless than I used to be but not sure that covid didn't have a hand in that. No rashes but joint pain is usually RA not under control. Do tell your nurse specialist and get checked out just in case. Ps rash could also be shingles have had that once since on it please get checked.
I used to get a rash why injecting. It was recommended that I used an E45 cream which seemed to work for me. Note everyone is different so what works for one might not work for another
I’ve been on benepali for 6yr, with little issues. About 3-4 months into using it, I started to get a reaction at the injection site. It would be a red raised circle about 10cm in diameter. I was advised to take an antihistamine prior to injecting and one the following day as well. She also advised applying ice to the area prior to injecting. Having followed this advice I had no further issues. I do have lung issues, and shortness of breath, but not due to benepali, but from years of uncontrolled inflammation. I was diagnosed very late at age 51, having had symptoms for over 25 years, which was always put down to my career as a trauma nurse.
I’m on them haven’t experienced. anything .
I have been on Benapali for just over a year i notice it can make me very sleepy 24-48 hours after taking it. I am hyper sensitive to medication after having a severe allergic reaction to sulfasalzine. So i take 5 other drugs so my body can tolerate it.
As has been previous said we all react differently please do not ignore the symptoms and seek help from your rheumatology department or gp if they get worse.
I hope things get better for you love and best wishes.
You should talk to your rheumy team about this. It might be that one of the other biological treatments would suit you better. We do all vary and what suits one person's body, doesn't suit another's.
Rheumatoid Disease is really just a collection of symptoms, signs and test results and might be caused by all sorts of different parts of our bodies' immune system attacking our own tissues. The different types of biological treatments reduce the activity of different parts of the immune system. At the moment, it's just trial and error finding the right one for each person.
I've been on Benapali for 4 years now, and apart from slight itching on the injection site at first, I've had no side effects at all. That is why I stuck to Benapali even though it took a long time to work. Now ot has changed my life.
