It’s not offered on the NHS for RA so I guess if you wanted to have treatment you’d have to pay privately - each session about £200-300 depending on where the facility is. I don’t know anyone who has had it so will be interested to know what the benefits are. Years ago hyperbaric oxygen therapy worked for gangrene, tissues which didn’t heal etc. so I suspect it’s now being rolled out for wider use by private companies. Time will tell whether it makes a difference to damaged joints and it would be great if it did work as it’s totally non-invasive with no drugs to ingest. Hooray!!

No but my cousin did for repairing/aiding soft tissue and tendons after a very problematic broken ankle. It wasn’t on the NHS though.

I had a batch of hyperbaric chamber treatments where they start at the minor depths and increase it at each session - I didn't find it helped with the RA and unfortunately ended up with tinnitus which the specialist thought was as a result of the hyperbaric chamber. I had mine at our local MS centre but not cheap

yes, £15 per session at the local MS treatment centre. It helped with my blepharospasm more noticeably but it stopped during lockdowns and I’ve not gone back to it.

I can’t say how/if it helped with RA as Covid since has messed my RA about a bit and I’ve started a second DMARD - would this have been needed if I could have got HBOT after my initial covid??? Who knows!

Thank you Ali, is the same case for me, since I got Covid my RA has get crazy and that’s why I want to give it a chance

HBOT is worth a try but if you’ve ever had a perforated eardrum you may not be able to use a chamber - you could still do oxygen therapy without the compression chamber.... I’ve just realised that you’re Mexico based so I don’t know where you go for this if you don’t have MS centres like we do in the U.K.
