Just hoping for a little information please. I’m thinking of taking a collagen drink. The person who does the occasional wart/skin tag removal for me recommended Collagen Shots to improve skin appearance and said it can help joints. She is a nurse practitioner and I’ve been to her for years. Does anyone else with RA take this?
And on a more frivolous note, does anyone have dermal fillers? You can probably guess I’m feeling rather past my sell by date and would like a little boost around my 68th birthday.
Don’t like to bother my RA team with this!

HI, yes I take Vital Proteins collagen which comes as a powder - I put it in a juice each morning. Think it helps me overall - not sure about with RA but certainly skin, hair and nails. One note of caution - I tried several other brands of collagen before settling on VP. They all gave me terrible headaches but VP doesn't. Haven't tried the Collagen Shots - let us know how you get on!
Would love to have fillers round my mouth - but am too scared!
There is a summary here of a review of studies looking at taking collagen supplements which is mildly encouraging. Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into it further.
Hi Ginny yes like others here I also take a powder form of collagen daily, I s also good for bone health too!! I wish I’d started taking earlier than I have..
