Well what a crazy couple of months. Ended up seeing GP as an emergency as a lump suddenly appeared in my armpit and I discovered it whilst on holiday. It was hard to touch and didn't move around when touched. My paternal Grandmother died from Breast Cancer. As you can imagine I was freaking out on the quiet. I thank my lucky stars that it was an enlarged lymph node. To my surprise I then found out that RA can cause this as well. Anyway, I hope you're all doing as best as you can, take care all 😘🙏🙂💕

Well RA the gift that keeps on giving lol
I had the same pre-RD. It is alarming the first time you notice one. I was fortunate & working for my GP at the time so I was seen between patients but it does put the wind up you.
You never know what RA is going to throw at us next darling. I am glad it was nothing serious as well. xxxx
I am always getting those lumps, mainly in my armpits but in other areas of my body as well. I have been getting them for many years before I was diagnosed with RA. I used to squeeze them sometimes when I was younger but I can’t do that now.
Holly-Willow I was going out of my mind with worry especially as I live alone with my two teenagers.
I had the same! Huge lymph node in axila that I convinced myself was breast cancer. This was pre arthritis and probably just at the start of the weight loss that preceded the more classic symptoms kicking in.
All the best
Bon

This is to everybody….. I hope you all have regular mammograms any way?If you are over the age where you are offered regular scans, you can still get one by contacting your local breast screening service. Many areas have mobile scanners…in my area they come to the supermarket car park.I had no lumps or bumps nor any pain, but out of the blue a regular mammogram threw up a lump that turned out to be malignant! It was treated swiftly & here I am 15 years later - as fit as RA allows. Just get it done.At my most recent scan they used a more modern machine & it was not nearly as fierce as it ised to be.
I totally get your worry about the enlarged lymph node, I had one in my left armpit last week and this week it’s in my right so uncomfortable. Sometimes they take ages to go. I find a warm cloth helps to relieve it a bit but in my case I’m finding that wearing a bra seems to make it worse even though they’re not wired. Hope the discomfort goes soon. I’ve recently had a mammogram which was negative for cancer but still not complacent not to check when things like this pop up. Massage helps too and not wearing deodorant for a couple of days just in case it’s a hair follicle. No fun though is it ?
I had a number of lymph nodes show up when I was screened before starting biological infusions. Was worried as was referred to breast consultant who organised a needle bio of the one under armpit. Thankfully all ok and like you was put down to RA but it was a concerning few weeks waiting for results. Had no more episodes since. Glad you were reassured x
Glad all is ok. I had issues with my lymph nodes in the first few years of diagnosis. You can get a special massage which drains them 😳 but I’ve yet to try…
xxxx
it definitely is the gift that keeps on giving. I had this last year and found that the lump was not malignant. Always good to get it checked out.
