Does anyone know if I can have the Covid/Flu booster/vaccine whilst I'm on Angevita? I can't get hold of my Rheumy nurse to advise. I'm due the vaccines tomorrow ( Saturday 15th Oct) and supposed to take my next dose of Angevita on Monday. Thinking of postponing it for week.
Any advice out here? Thanks xx

No problem. If you are on methotrexate too there is some research that suggests not taking that for two weeks after the jab can improve the immune response. It is not clear cut as avoidance of a flare will differ from person to person.
I’ve been advised by my immunologist to pause my weekly biologic Abatacept injection and Mtx injection for a few weeks (one week before and two after) to have my Covid booster (last weekend) and my flu and pneumonia (next week.) I’m cautious re the pausing and so are my consultants as Rituximab scuppered all my vaccines last year.
Have a look too on Creaky Joints website re pausing RA meds for vaccines. They have more details and a list.
Thats great advice, thank you. Something is telling me NOT to have my fortnightly injection on Monday so I'll leave it for another two weeks. I've only been on it a very short time after waiting WEEKS for it's delivery so it won't hurt me to stop it for two weeks. I'll check out creaky joints now. Thank you 🥰🥰
Similar here, Very delayed delivery on my new med too. I had three of my new biologic injections then a month’s pause whilst I factor in my Covid booster last week and my flu and pneumonia vaccines next week. Good luck. 💗
I have just started Anjevita and I asked my rheumy team this very question and their reply was , as long as you don’t have ot on the same day it’s fine, so I had my flu jab 5 days after and my next Covid jab will be 3 days after my next dose. It seems that there is a lot of conflicting advice out there.
at the moment the guidance is you can continue, with the exception of methotrexate, which they are now advising a 2 week break. I’m on 5 immunosuppressants, including a biologic, 25mg MTX and steroids. I’ve continued all previously. I tested my antibodies after 3 of the vaccines and had a moderate response, despite all these immunosuppressants plus steroid inhalers. I’ve just had my 6th vaccine, and have held off on my MTX as advised, and due to having sinusitis, I also held off the biologic. I was able to still have the vaccine despite being on antibiotics. I had the new Pfizer bivalent one and only had a sore arm.
