I have. The non live vaccine had to be ordered in by the GP. You have to have 2.

Did you request the shingles non live from your GP or did they call you? I've never been called even though I'm over 70 and I think people 70 and over are recommended to have it. Thanks.

Just googled it and it is over 70 year olds. Im sure ive seen or heard on the radio an advert saying over 65's can have it.

Thank you, I'll ask too when I have the flu vaccine, I didn't know until I read on here that there is a non live vaccine for shingles. I know I'm not allowed the live jab and not been told by GP's about a non live.

Yes had it ages ago. Most people only need one unless for health reasons you have two but one off is the norm.

Yes, I have had my two doses of Shingrix. Wonderful that we can now access it, essential to have a nonlive variation if immunosuppressed

yes I had the first of two doses of dead Virus inJuly the next one is due 12 October

I requested it being over 70 The practice nurse who administered it had read my file, knew I was immunosuppressed and gave me the first dose of the non live virus

I’m 58 and had the 1st of 2 doses of (the non-live version) 2mnths ago & having my second dose on Tuesday, had to have these before commencing the Biologic Amgevita.

Had a really sore arm for the following 4-5 days but no other side-effects.

glad you asked the question I’ve always been told that GP’s and rheumy departments which includes immunology too that I wasn’t able to have the shingrix vaccination as it wasn’t given to anyone under the age of 75. Apparently they are mistaken so I will look into it myself as I’m immune suppressed. That’s what this forum is for to inform others of their experience. I was told I could have the non live shingrix if I paid privately for it, but maybe things have changed in the last couple of years 🤷‍♀️

I am having mine next Thursday along with my flu jab. I couldn't have it when I went last year as they had got the live one in for me. I didn't realize you had to have two though. Will have to fit my Covid booster in somewhere as well!
