Well I got them . It took 4 hours including travel. 2 nurses and 6 attempts to find a vein . It took them 35 mins. They are extremely busy.

Sorry for the performance you had getting them. Very similar to the experience I had but this was Boxing Day so the CMDUs had only been set up a few days earlier so put it down to that. 5 hours and 6 professionals later I got the infusion the next day but only because I work at the hospital and found the direct number on the staff intranet. They were very surprised I called direct but extremely efficient when I did and apologetic the system hadn’t worked. Hope you feel better soon, I was lucky I didn’t feel too ill but it was exhausting trying to get help. Ironically my GP contacted me just as I was leaving the CMDU to say they had been sent the 111 call details and were referring me straight away (they had been closed due to the bank holiday).

So glad you got them in the end but really sorry you had to go through such a terrible time. I hope you recover quickly now but meanwhile I prescribe more cake and other treats!

Thank goodness you are finally sorted out. Could you ask for a fine or it’s possibly a children’s needle in future? I had an experiences like your in the past when having a blood test and it was horrible. After that I discovered I have one arm that is easier to deal with than the other then I discovered if I told them it was hard to find a vein etc it sort of made them a lot more careful when they were doing it - think I kind of scared them in advance. It certainly helped.

Hope your cake was delicious - there are days when cake is the only answer 🍰

Good tip.. yeah only one good arm and the veins are hardening from over use .. sound like a junkie 😂😂the cake hit the spot thanks 😁

Are we all allowed anti virals as I am on mtx and have been told by 111 prob not needed and no call at all from cmdu x

I think the guidance has changed now. I am only on methotrexate but got antivirals eight weeks ago. Someone posted a link on here that seemed to say you only qualify if you take methotrexate for lung disease. If you do a search on here you may locate the post.

Thank you will have a little search x

The Guidelines have changed . I don’t think MTX alone is enough. MTX together with Biologics or co morbidities seams to mean you have more of a chance . Then again it seems to be different where you live 🤷🏽‍♀️

Well done for persisting! Cake well earned. A daily slice should be prescribed while you're poorly! 🍰 Hope the antivirals do the trick.

Well I’m sure the travelling and time it took to get the infusion hasn’t helped how you were feeling. Hopefully you’ll improve quickly now and definitely think the cake is a necessary evil for a few days at least without any guilt.
