I have RA and PMR also waiting to have my shoulder and both hips replaced so not very mobile at the moment. I keep getting a burning sensation down the outside of my lower legs and wondered if anyone else had had this and could it be related to RA or hips

CONFUSED
I'd say hips as pain radiates down the legs. Mine would even cause ankle pain and knee before surgery
Hi there, I have lumbar issues and my RA is not well controlled, the neurosurgeon was not sure if the burning sensations I have in my outer calves is lumbar or RA related. Both my hips are very sore and burn too as does my pelvis. I'm waiting for MRIs. It can be really difficult to know what is causing what when you have a number of issues going on. Is your RA well controlled ?
I was told the burning areas (right buttock and right shoulder blade area) are caused by nueropathy. My feet burn like fury, but I'm not sure that is connected to the other areas. It frequently happens with Diabetes, but I don't have that, thankfully. My sister in law, who does, has burning over her upper back. I found the following on the internet but have no further info.
Peripheral Neuropathy
Damage caused to the peripheral nerves cause peripheral neuropathy, inhibiting their ability to function properly. This dysfunction causes an intense burning sensation. It can be caused by injury, infections, or a system disorder.
Just another issue to deal with, Kx
Sorry I don't know but I wish you well.
Sorry no idea I describe RD pain in my joints like being on fire. When waiting for my hip replacements had back and groin pain.
Hope you can locate the cause and solve.
Once my hips replaced no pain in that area, just dealing with OA in the knees.
All the best with the surgery.
