My femur cracked just above a knee replacement. The crack was not treated, and moved, causing scoliosis in my spine, with slipped discs

I want to thank all the people who have taken time to write. You are the best medicine I have been given . A million thank yous!!! Very recently, and in desperation and much pain, I approached a firm of solicitors who do pro bono work. This is the important bit - although they believe I should receive compensation, they cannot take on my case because it is over 3 years old. My accident was 6 plus years ago. The complaint must be made within 3 years of the treatment at the time. I’d never thought about compensation I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM PEOPLE OF THIS RULE. I did my best, and spent a lot of money to be treated, and cannot afford any more private treatment. If somebody knows a way round this ruling, I’d be so grateful if they could let me know.

It is within three years of the problem occuring or within three years of becoming aware that a problem occurred. Different things. Were you aware, more than three years ago, that your back problems stemmed from your untreated cracked femur?

Just a quick reply, it is right what flowerlover says the most important thing is when did you become aware that the untreated cracked femur had caused the back problem. Legally its three years and the hospitals are even worse they think it is one year from incidence. So take a look at your medical details and see when you became aware. Even three years can pass quite quickly when you are seeking medical help and in pain.

I am sorry that I can't help you with your problem but I just want to wish you success with your claim and all the very best with your health. You are suffering enough.
