Marvellous! Yes I’m seeing my guy about my left hip this week. Right one is 2.5 years old. Good luck.

Thanks hope you won't have to wait too long for your operation.

Aw thanks. If I have to I’ll go privately. It’ll decimate my savings but I need to get my life back before before I get too old to do anything. It’s NHS at a Spire hospital so I’m hoping not tooooo long to wait. I could probably live with it for another 6 months. I’ve been holding out for the recommended consultant (my previous guy retired), so that has delayed it a bit.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes . I have an appointment next week and hoping I'll get some idea of when I can get my hip done . At 80 I feel I need it done yesterday . I may have to look hard at my piggyback too. Good luck .l

I wish think they can even you out.We all shrink as we age

I hope they don’t! Just been through a long (nearly 3 years) drawn out process to discover I need a heel lift in left leg along with other bits and bobs. I’d have to have them all remade. 😂😂😂

I have had to go private also to get things done.I know hospital is busy people are using savings or getting loans.Desperate times ahead for nhs patients needing surgery.Due to covid, waiting lists for elective surgery is massive. My sister has been waiting couple years for hip replacement.I do feel guilty that I don't have enough funds to help her get operation sooner.Madmusiclover try to go sooner charges have went up, longer you wait it will cost more due to energy hike.Good Luck hope you get sorted soon.

ITthey will even your legs out when you have the replacement. This will mean there is less pressure on your back and knees, so it is much better in the long run, but you may need new shoes! You may want to discuss this with the surgeon, but I would say it is worth the new shoes.

(I am a double hippie, and I know it can feel wonky immediately after each replacement, because of how your body has compensated while you got to the point that you need the hip replaced...it does even out...although sometimes needs a few exercises to help!)

Well he had the chance to level me up the first time. 5mm out or maybe that’s the gap moss in my bad hip?!

Kind of. Tendonitis even with steroid jabs still an issue 2 years on but that's just me nothing straightforward. All in all glad they were done

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Both hips replaced in 2019 (5 months apart, although I should have gone for 3 months). It has made my life so much easier and much much less painful! Life changing in a good way! Best of luck for a smooth recovery.
