Has anyone had any experience of taking anti virals after testing positive for Covid ?
I tested positive on Tuesday and am due to receive my antiviral medication tomorrow.
Are they beneficial and are there any side effects to look out for ?

A few here have had them , if you scroll back you will find them or you can use the search box and filter for NRAS. I think people did well on them as far as I can remember.
Do you know which ones you are being prescribed? I’m on day 4 of a 5 day course of Paxlovid. The only side effect I’ve had is a strange metallic taste in my mouth the whole time. Coffee now tastes disgusting! (And I usually drink loads of it!) Sipping orange juice or honey and lemon disguises it well.
Whether or not it’s helped I don’t really know. Covid is so random I can’t say how ill I would have been without them. I felt pretty rough for a few days (slept almost constantly for 2 days) but today I feel much better.
Hope you don’t feel too ill.
Hi. I finished a course of paxlovid a few days ago. It really helped move covid on and I felt much better within a couple of days of starting to take them. I’m not usually sensitive to side effects but this time had the strange metallic taste in mouth that ruined my glass of Sauvignon blanc (😁) and I also had an upset tummy on 3 out of 5 days. They all vanished as soon as treatment stopped. 👍
Interesting that you had the same metallic taste to me even though I couldn’t see it listed as a side effect on the patient leaflet. Sorry it interferes with your glass of wine I sympathise as it totally put me off my coffee.
I’m glad it went when you finished the medication. I take my last dose today.
