I was diagnosed with RA 17 years ago, and was successfully treated with methotrexate and a biologic, etanercept, for over 10 years. I still had pain but was mobile. Etanercept stopped working about 12 months ago and, after lots of tests and problems with my liver, I was given a different biologic, adalimumab in November. This didn’t work at all so I started a JAK inhibitor, Baricitinib last week. Is anyone else on this drug and was it successful?
JAK inhibitor : I was diagnosed with RA 17 years ago... - NRAS
JAK inhibitor
If you put that into the search box and filter for NRAS then all the posts about it will come up 😊 🤞🏻It works for you
JAK inhibitors have by far been the best RA med for me. I started on Baricitinib but had a few relatively minor viral infections, changed to Toficitinib and have been absolutely fine. My cholesterol is a bit high, otherwise I've had no side effects.
That’s good to hear. This morning when I got out of bed I could actually walk straight away, the first time for a very long time! I’m having a cholesterol test in a couple of weeks and I already take an antibiotic as a prophylactic because I also have severe asthma and a lung disease so hopefully that will help to fight any infections.
I started Baracitinib on 20th January this year and noticed an improvement straight away. I had to stop due to a recent infection for a week and it hasn’t kicked in as well yet but it’s early days! Given the major improvement initially seem I’m hoping once it’s truly kicked in I’ll be pretty mobile again 🤞🏻
I'm on it. I know everyone is different but I had about 10 years of drugs not working till I got put on baricitinib. Its been brilliant for me, way above previous drugs. Hope it works well for you.
