Hi Ajay, yes I want to appeal the award decision, as the person I soke with on the phone said 1, my breathing was fine no sign of out of breath, even though I told her I attend the lung clinic as my lungs are scared and damaged , I also have other disagreement with things she said which are definitely not true ..I'm not bothered about the money ,as I'm luck I have a husband that can support me, but the lies they have said it shocking ....sorry to rant.xx

Joan you may need to go for mandatory reconsideration first before appealing, does it say that on your letter and if so have you done that already? Here is a link to the NRAS site for guidance or you can join the other sites ajay mentioned too if you can’t get free help.

You need to do it within a month of the date on your letter. Good luck 🤞🏻

I'm sorry to hear that JoanZoe. What you will need to challenge the decision is to initially request Mandatory Consideration (form ref CRMR1). This may help citizensadvice.org.uk/benef... info for England, select country if different. It may be helpful to also ask for advice from or for a meeting with a CAB advisor, especially if you didn't when filling in your review form. This is another helpful page, (ignore the website it's from) mentalhealthandmoneyadvice....

If you haven’t already you can ask for a copy of the assessment providers report (form ref PA4), this should address in full what the assessor provided to the DWP. It should also help to show the discrepancies between what the assessor understood/misunderstood & what you told him/her. You can use this as part of your MR, listing what was incorrect. Remember when formulating your responses it's not what you have (or had, as you mention Covid) but how it affects you, both now & if it's likely to be long term.

I hope this helps but if not just ask, many of us have been through the process.

Well, the proof is in the pudding… or PA4.

Hi Joanzoe, if your condition is now worse ideally you should resubmit your claim. I would suggest speaking to Citizens advice as they have very clear guidance on this and can help you with paperwork.
