If you look back over previous posts there are lots about 3rd and booster vaccines or you can use the search box to find them 😊

If you can, call the centre where you had your last vaccine and explain your situation. That's what I did and they were very helpful.

I’d get back in touch with your GP. Mine changed my status so I can get a 4 jab 3 months after 3; which I took as a booster.

I was advised to go to a gp led walk in centre with the letter saying I was eligible for a third primary dose. (I had my third dose in September which was recorded as a booster meaning I could not book my booster ie 4th dose online.) I did this and had no problem getting a 4th (booster) dose. I was told a prescriber (usually a dr) needs to authorise as it is off guidance.

I had no problem with booking a fourth vaccination by telephone to my GP BUT I was told to explain verbally to the person who is administering it that I have already had three doses and give the date of the last one ... I asked if it would be a 'booster' (perhaps half a dose of Moderna) but was assured it would be a full dose of Pfizer just as I have received in the past. So, in my case, NOT a 'booster' .... it's very confusing..... !

Full doses of Phizer are being used as a booster, as well as half doses of Moderna. It just depends on what is being used at the clinic on the day you visit. So yes it will be recorded as a booster.

Don't wait for them to contact you, they won't. Call the vaccine centre and book directly or go to a walk-in with evidence of your 3rd primary dose.

My third primary was also recorded on my electronic record as booster. From reading here it's an almighty NHS error. Before knowing about this I went down to my Surgery to try to sort it, didn't fancy hanging on the phone for a half hour or more. Anyway, as it was just short of 12 weeks since my third primary like you I’d not been contacted by my Surgery who had contacted me previously to arrange appointments at a local small hospital for them. I decided I’d also take the opportunity to ask whilst I was there if I could book my booster. She wasn't able to do this but told me she'd ask one of the PM's to call me in the morning to sort both. True to her word she did, third vaccine/booster error not yet resolved but I had my booster appointment for the following Monday, 2 days over 12 weeks. A PN did it at the Surgery. So, I’d call or go down to your Surgery, you may be fortunate like me!

My third was also recorded as a booster but I was subsequently invited for a 3rd primary via the hospital I see the rheumatologist at (London). I contacted them at the time to ask whether they could change my record but the hospital vaccination team said they couldn’t. I left it as was assuming 6 months but then they changed it to a 3 month gap. Tried to GP for help who told me I wasn’t eligible. Tried ringing 119 on 10th December and got told they would ring me in the next 3 weeks… I haven’t heard from them. Finally got another letter from the hospital vaccination team just now dated 14th December telling me to get a 4th vaccine via walk-in and showing the letter or ringing National booking (they refused to give me an appt) or the hospital vaccination team directly. I’ve just rung the hospital team and they have booked me for next Thursday 👍🏻. They had a list of all hospital patients classified as vulnerable which they cross/referenced my NHS Number against and were only booking and vaccinating these patients. So 🤞🏻

It seems if you have the evidence a walk-in centre should do your 4th jab.

I still haven’t had a letter regarding priority access to treatment but one thing at a time!

Good luck sorting yours x
