Just want to say something positive about the NHS here in Scotland. Last week I wrote to the rheumatologist to try to expedite my covid jag to work with my rituximab infusion. He left a message for me to get blood tests. I reported they'd been done. He phoned me the same day to confirm that infusions have been booked for me at the end of November and that he'd push for my third covid jag. The same evening the vaccine people phoned and offered me an appointment this (Saturday) morning for the jag. All done, arm a bit stiff but fine. I was delighted with this development and now will be able to have infusion before the end of the year.

That's such good news Cathie. x
That's great news cathie, I'm really pleased for you. x
That all sounds good, Cathie. I haven’t been on the forum for ages, mainly because I now have a serious kidney disease . My kidneys are leaking protein. Muscles are largely protein, so I’m very weak. Still, I’m alive😀I hope you enjoying your bothy. Jo. x
I hope they can look after you and help your kidneys. We had to stay away from our house in the Highlands during lockdown but have been back for three ten day visits since June. I'm now planning a very discreet number of visits to exhibitions during the winter. Just missed what looked like an intriguing Karla Black one at the new - very accessible - Fruitmarket gallery. I hope you can get some help on the kidneys - do you have to consume extra protein to help? XX
Excellent news. Hope it all goes well x
Well done
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So good when it all works.
That's so good to hear. My next infusion is early December so like you am hoping to get 3rd jab. I've received a letter now so just need to find a Centre as my GP isn't getting involved with thirds.
Do you mind me asking how long between infusions?
I have the two sets of rituximab infusions every 6 months. The second is two weeks after the first - hope that makes sense. I’m in Scotland
Thank you yes it makes sense. Hope your infusions go well. I'm hoping the jabs work well for us on retux.
They work but no 100% - I’ve been keeping my distance from other people- don’t mind - but I have a very supportive partner who is as antisocial as me!
Brilliant Cathie, my experience of the NHS in Scotland has been excellent throughout the pandemic, better than non pandemic times.
So pleased for you Cathie. We have a lot to be thankful for here in Scotland
Well done. Very pleased for you.
