Many congratulations on your move ā¦.but a word of advice re settling in!
I went at it like the bull in the china shop when I moved about 8 weeks ago, & nearly knocked myself outā¦.& I donāt have a job I have to go toā¦so take it easy.
I know how very irritating it is to see unopened removal boxes all over the placeā¦..but tbhā¦.who cares?
My microwave is my best friend & I now open a box when I feel like itā¦I have sorted my clothes so donāt have to wear the same thing day after dayā¦.& if I have a tidy house by Christmas Iāll be delighted!
Friends come to see youā¦not perfectly placed furniture!
Yes we have downsized xx just fitting it all in xx
I moved about 6 years ago to be nearer familyā¦ best decision ever! Give yourself a year to fully unpack. Donāt put yourself under too much pressure. You have the rest of your life and you are the one setting the targets/ writing the listsā¦. Something we all forget I think. Tell yourself you are allowed take-outs for the rest of this monthā¦. Thatās should be enough time to get the kitchen sorted. Good Luck š
I would second the advice to take things slowly - and I've moved house 14 times, sometimes before I have even unpacked absolutely everything. Until you have lived in a house for a bit you don't know how you will use it or where you want things, so just use what you need from the boxes gradually.
I find the kitchen is the main place to sort out, but then I do like my food!
