Flare in toes but not hands

My RA started in fingers (2018) and wrists plus one elbow. After getting dmards sorted it's doing better, still tough but not as bad and more under control.

Now my toes are very painful. But is it even possible to get a "flare" of RA in 2-3 joints only, whilst the other 21 joints that I have experienced RA in are all fairly good and not flaring?

I have emailed the hospital earlier today.

I just wondered if anyone has experienced a flare in just 2-3 joints with everywhere else already reasonably under control?

It can start in a couple of joints and then move to more, that’s what happened to me when I had my last major flare 6 years ago.

Yes it is. You can have a flare in 1 joint or all joints. There is no rhyme nor reason to this disease.

Unfortunately yes . I do . Times I’ll have multiple joints and then it will attack just one joint rather aggressively and often for along time then it just disappears. My toes are always the most problematic.

I have always had random flares in random joints as well as the ‘regular’ locations. Sometimes I can relate it to an overworked joint or rapid changesIn the weather, sometimes just random.

Don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but as the only way we've been able to socialise with family and friends until recently was outdoors, I've found that I've been bad the day after I've sat outside in the cold and damp even if I've kept myself wrapped up whilst out there. Wonder if that could have exacerbated your problem? Hopefully will improve now we can choose whether to go outside or not...
