I've been on Sulfasalazine now for 8 months now and I've noticed my weight creep up over that time. My weight is usually pretty static so this is odd for me. It also seems to have plateaued now after the gain.
Has anyone else had an experience of this happening?

I was the opposite I lost weight on sulfasalazine, thankfully after a few months it stopped but I still haven't gained the weight I lost. We're all so different on how meds affect us.
No they aren't. I didn't have headaches but just upset tummy and nausea and total lost of appetite. But it did settle down and I take them now with no side effects at all.
Iv been taking this medication for some years now & havn’t really noticed any difference either way. But have to say for us ladies the menopause is taking it’s tole with the weight gain suppose lockdown didn’t help either ☹️X
No weight change on any of my medications (Methotrexate, Hydroxychloroquine and Sulfasalazine) although slight nausia and tummy issues initially on Sulfasalazine. No problems at all after a while in fact, my long-term IBSc is much better than before Sulfasalazine 😊
I have weight gain on mtx and sulfasalazine , but it could also be down to lack of mobility and lock down, but i have went off alot of food and suffer from feeling sick but thats no bad thing 🤣
Have to say not at all with Sulpha but I was a very slim 7& 1/2 stone girl aged 35-42 when I took Sulpha. We are all different though so could be giving you weight gain. 🤨 (Could it be lockdown and not as much activity in the last year?) x
I did think it was that at first but it only started in th autumn, plus I dance a few times a week and also do weights. I thought maybe I had been eating too many desserts but even with healthier eating and exercise it seems to be stuck 🤷♀️
Hi, I have been on Sulfasalazine for nearly two years now. No weight gain at all from the Sulphasalzine but have put a lot of weight on recently due to lack of mobility, energy and not eating well or healthy. Need to get myself back on track. x
