Methotrexate injections

Has anyone else suffered a flare up when swapping from oral methotrexate to injections. It’s only been a week but I would have thought the benefits of methotrexate would not have reduced with the swap - the level remained at 20mgs.

The general school of thought is that changing over to injections increases the amount that gets into your system as it bypasses the stomach.Maybe you were heading for a flare anyway and the timing is coincidental? 🤔

Thanks for your reply - that was my thoughts - I had expected more relief not less 🤔sounds like I may need to increase the steroids again🙄

Not for me and as boxerlady says the injections actually increases the amount your body absorbs. Does seem like an unfortunate coincidence. 🍀 I hope the flare passes quickly.

Same for me .. injections helped the pain and symptoms much more.

same here, more beneficial being on injections as it gets into your body quicker, hope it settles down for you x
