Hi looking for some info on Benepali & dental treatment I was on biological meds before & was informed the unyielding time scale to stop meds before dental treatment was 3 weeks but I’m unsure of the time scale prior to dental procedures on Benepali I also take salphasalizine with the biological meds.
Thank You

I had a similar problem 4 years ago. I contacted my rheumatology helpline for advise. I have abatacept infusions every 4 weeks & also take sulfasalazine & hydrooxychloroquine daily. I was advised to have a gap of at least 10days from abatacept, 1week antibiotics & then a further week until the next infusion. I was told there was no need to stop sulfasalazine or hydoroxychloroquine. Methotrexate needs to be stopped while taking antibiotics & until incisions are healed. Hope this is of some help, would advise you check with your rheumatology team as this advise was a few years ago. My experience is that dentists have little knowledge about rheumatology drugs.
I've had a root canal on it no problem. No extraction though which may be different fortunately I still have all my teeth although a good few fillings. lol
Hi Guys wee update on my dental treatment firstly can I just say I went to my last appointment on my own (massive achievement) I won’t say I wasn’t scared I was petrified but felt the need to do this & did. However iv to have 2 extractions of root left on my upper gum (dreading) & 3 fillings all done on the same day as I opted to be knocked out as the over whelming thought on its own was enough to put me into a state of panic😥 my daughter will take me off course & collect me I AM HOWEVER REAL SCARED OF THE HEALING TIME DUE TO MY SALVISALIZINE & BENEPALI I DONT KNOW WEATHER I SHOULD JUST STOP THEM FOR NOW MY APPOINTMENT IS THE 5th JUNE 🙈 ANY ADVICE GUYS (except call your Rheumatolgy Clinic) as I can never get hold of anyone at the present time.
