Still waiting to see podiatrist 20months on

I've been waiting to see the podiatrist since August 2019 because of the pain in my feet (toes) and the development of bunions on both feet. My feet were also really bad during, and initially straight after pregnancy last summer; now I just have the ongoing pain from my toes and bunions.... Still no idea when I will see anyone about it! 🥺

That’s a long time to wait. Why don’t you have a word with your GP and ask if you can be referred to the MSK unit, bypassing the podiatrist?

Good luck.

I see a private podiatrist with similar problems as you.

I’d chase this up jacquette, that’s way too long to wait after being referred.

Hello jacquette,I am in the same boat as you. Terrible feet pain .

Even when I did see a podiatrist two years ago he was useless !!

When they made me some shoes they were far too heavy to wear even. There is little help for feet unless your prepared to have operation .

I have no idea about your personal circumstances but have you considered private treatment? Forgive me if that is not an option.

I found that the NHS podiatrist was unhelpful (I did actually complain about her) and I paid to see one privately who was able to give me some relief but recommended that I saw an orthopaedic specialist for feet and ankles. I had an operation as a result which helped a lot at the time, but I was out of action for around six months recovering.

I gave in to paying for my podiatrist treatment. Trying to get a referral was too difficult and long winded.

I had my left foot operated on as my right foot is normal. It was the single best thing I've ever had done for RA.
