A little help....

My daughter has just been diagnosed with RA. She is 23 yrs old and has just started methotrexate weekly injections. I wondered if there was anyone out there of similar age, who she could maybe connect with?

Hi. I was 25 when I was diagnosed and started methotrexate. I'm now 38 - but don't have any kids (by choice) so I'm used to living a much more exciting life than my RA sometimes allows.

I'm more than happy for your daughter to message me. Even if I am a bit older than her now, I've definitely been where she is xx

This might be helpful to her plus she is very welcome here of course as there are young people here too and a lot of us that were diagnosed at a young age 😊

Thank you very much, the website looks great. She's really struggling at the moment and I think it will really help her to know, that there are many young people living their lives with arthritis. xx

Hi, I'm 26 and have psoriatic arthritis. I was diagnosed 6 years ago. I'd be happy to connect with her and help her a little bit. Especially in the early days when things seem overwhelming x

Hey, always happy for her to reach out to me but full warning, I'll be no help with the medical stuff as I was only just diagnosed in January and had never heard of it before... So the only thing I can help with is knowing what it feels like right now Haha

I’m always happy to help as well. I was 24 when diagnosed and now am 31. I remember being so worried that it would put my life on hold, I worried about finding a partner who understood, how changing jobs etc would be. I’ve luckily responded well to treatments, on injections too. And my fears about my life also haven’t come true!

I hope you are all coping ok X

Hi there so sweet of you to find people for her to reach out to. That's what was hardest for me. No one around me was in the same boat. I got diagnosed at 17. I'm now 44. So happy to help if she wants to talk to an older person.
