Wake up in extreme pain - mostly in left hand, all of it.

Like hot pokers being forced between every joint and very, stiff. Solution for me, move, stretch and keep on moving and stretching through the pain until the stiffness begins to release. Rest for a few minutes and then stretch again, repeat until pain subsides... Go back to sleep...

I am discovering that my best defence is movement - however inconvenient it might be.

Roll on Monday. Hopefully, I will get a steroid jab and some relief. Then there will be a wait until whatever meds are decided upon arrive.

Life is a voyage of discovery. It is facing and overcoming challenges, however hard they may be and gently working through them until warmer, happier times return. Maybe we will gain in strength and resolve as we overcome our personal trials.

Spring is on the way. Happy weekend - go gently through it.

If I go one day without my exercises all hell breaks lose.... use it or loose it as they say. But yes I do resent it if I have to do stretches at 4am - and so does my OH!

Absolutely. Stillness is the enemy of RA, long walks and stretches are the way to go. I don't have an OH to worry about. It is not always easy to go back to sleep either.

My worst day over the Christmas break was NYD I decided to have a complete day of rest. I watched tv all day & snacked from the fridge Did 200 steps Never again was up all night in agony 😫😖. I have to keep moving. My choice is swimming/aquafit so now have to walk regardless of the weather & stretches.

It is great to hear you sound so positive despite the pain you’re in. I hope you get repute from it and it eases. Roll on Monday and pain relief and next steps. 🍀😁

Super frost here and maybe snow will finally arrive tomorrow. I do want snow and now please ⛄️😁 A Happy weekend to you too.

Aww roll on Monday for you and hopefully the steroid injection will bring you some much needed relief whilst a new medication is decided upon for you.

I have been on steroids for nearly a year now and had a couple of steroid injections too. I go for an assessment to see if I am suitable for biologics next Friday so waiting for a new treatment plan too.

We have lots of snow here this morning.

Take good care and stay safe x

You are going to have a good old stretch before your journey in on Monday. Take care x
