Infection nose or uti....noticed over last 5 years
Why ....when i take antibiotics does my RA and Fibrom... - NRAS
Why ....when i take antibiotics does my RA and Fibromyalgia symtoms reduce and my whole me feel better...every time i have had an infection.
When I had the Nora virus this happened to me. My nurse said as RA is an immune response where your body decides to attack a virus /inflammation but because there isn’t one it’s attacking it’s own body. When you have a real infection your immune system is doing it’s job and is so busy attacking the real infection it’s not attacking it’s own body.. hope I explained it clearly I’m a bit foggy this morning 😁
I wonder if any research is carried out ....what an interesting theory.....giving our body something something else to fight besides itself ......but something that does no real damage to us.But........why does it wait to ease untill antibiotics are in the system......
Why not when the infection first strikes..
So many questions.......
Thank you for your quick relpy ...
Hope your recovery is speedy and no effects stay safe x
Your right so many questions.. a little virus pill to trick our bodies.. if only it was that simple 😁
I was just about to say J1707 had a nurse who told her body fighting a real infection but already sorted!
I was told same sort of thing..
I'm sure I've read the same elsewhere and was going to comment something along similar lines ie. essentially that having a "genuine" infection effectively "distracts" your immune system into attacking that rather than focusing on your own body.
Or in other words, it may well be that it's not actually the antibiotics that are helping but the very fact that you have an infection at all
Whatever it is, hope you're feeling better (in both ways) very soon... x
I was told the same thing too.I've noticed when I have a cold, my RA improves.
I've had this happen to me everytime I've been on IV antibiotics. I've had the same answer from many doctors, "we know antibiotics contain a level of anti-inflammatory properties too."
All interesting theories up there. I have my own.I think, as there is a link between intestinal bacterial flora with RA, whenever we take antibiotics, it kills of lot of those bacteria's and so our body's reaction calms down somewhat. But once antibiotics course is over, as soon as the effect is over, bacteria's start growing again and RA starts acting up.
I think that is one of the reasons why Sulfasalazine and Minocycline are some of the drugs used to treat RA.
Hope they keep the research going on this.
