This is my first posting, I was diagnosed with RA in 2015 have been on Hydroxychloroquine for last 3 years after failing miserably with other drugs.
Rheumy suggested trying Benapali as Hydroxychloroquine isn’t working as well, had my first injection on Friday. I started to feel woozy, shaky and then sickly on Friday afternoon, still felt awful yesterday. Hoped I would be feeling better this morning but still feeling shaky, sickly and basically awful, feel so disappointed as I was pinning my hopes on the Benapali helping me. Just wondered if any of you lovely people had had a similar reaction to Benapali or other Bio logic drug and how long is the reaction likely to last? Don’t think I want to go through this again!

Yes I was on a Erlezi another bio similar for etanercept. First injection made me shake. I suggest you keep a diary on your reactions. When I start a new drug I take antihistamines till my body is use to it. It often takes a few weeks to settle . Hope it works x
It could just be a coincidence and be something else and not the injection but when I first took benepali it affected my nose, ears and throat, blocked and stuffed up feeling which made me feel a bit dizzy too but it did get better after I was on it a while. This is quite a common effect when first on it I think. Keep an eye on what happens and talk to your rheumy if you are concerned.
I have been on Benepali for a few years now. I can’t recall any adverse reaction to it when I first started it. I do know it is a superb drug and has nearly eliminated my RA symptoms. I hope you can continue with it and you get a positive outcome Regards
Thanks it is the nausea that’s getting to me, spoke to gp this morning going to try cyclizine. I really want to get on with the Benapali as everyone is so positive about it.
