Spoke too soon

I recently said after the fungal toenail, shingles debacle that at least I don't have worms which I often get. I can now add them to the list along with a permanent sore inside the tip of my nose which 'smells '.

Hells bells Brychni tough times.

Well all that can just rack off !

Least you can get some tablets and get rid of them and don't pick the sore! I've just started reading a new book to get my mind of my health and its working .

Mind is a powerful thing 😁

Take care

I used to get a sore inside the tip of my nose on the odd occasion and it used to hurt, this was going on for several years about once a year but the GP gave me some Naseptin cream and it worked a treat. Now though it seems that it appears much further up inside my nose and takes ages to clear, I think it's because I can't reach where it is so the Naseptin can't really work properly (besides which it contains neomycin which affects tinnitus apparently and mine is a bugbear at the moment) and it appears quite frequently since being diagnosed with RA. Ask your GP for some cream to use and that should get rid of it.

Hi springcross - I was given some Fucidin for the shingle spots which the the GP told me not to bother with, but I looked it up and I can use it inside my nose. I also have a tube of Bactroban from when my son had nose cauterisation and both are effective. I am honestly so reluctant to go to the GP about anything at the moment; I think they are overwhelmed and our local hospital is in real trouble with over half of staff off. I have started to get purple spots on my finger tips which also really worry me but I never know any more who to go to. GP and rheumatology both made a hash of the shingles thing, and it was so unnecessary and wasteful, medication and time. My biggest problem at the moment is the pain at the top of my spine, neck, collar bones and shoulders. There is something very strange going on with the muscles or tendons that stretch from the base of my skull into the collar bone at the front: when I get up in the morning they stand out like pulled strings and take a while to 'soften'. I showed my husband and he thought it looked so freakish. I don't know what the hell to make of it. The whole of my ribcage is tight and painful, moving around at night is very difficult and getting up is hell. Urrggh!

I am wondering whether a physio or osteopath could help with that, just for an assessment maybe. Do you do any really physical work at home?

No, no repetitive work or activity. The pain is on a specific area in my spine and sort of radiates. It's hideous. I suspect this leans my Undifferntiated diagnosis towards PsA but I've read that mtx does little for issues in the spine...

what does an osteopath do? I can't get any physio therapy since my diagnosis.

They can see if there is a problem (as in inbalance) with say a vertebra out of place a bit which would cause problems in other areas.

Oh poor you! That’s all you need isn’t it. Hopefully your doctor can prescribe something that will get rid of the worms and the sore nose for you.

Ouch, on nose! I use coconut oil inside my nose when it gets sores. Works a treat.

I am struggling with fungal toenails, started in May 2016 and just won’t go away completely. But no worms... hope that’s not too soon!

My temp is going weird things this evening; started dropping from normal whilst my cheeks are bright red and head has begun to hurt and ache.

Dangerous if temp gets to just 35°C so am keeping an eye on that. It was 36.2°C an hour ago, lowest ever for me!

Hope you soon kill those worms!

The first time I had the worms was after having my daughter 12 years ago. Never had them as a child. I have done so much research and am not bothered by it now but it is a nuisance. apparently most of us have them most of the time but don't notice and every so often they get 'out of control' which is when they start to become noticeable and uncomfortable. I have never discovered why some people get hem a lot and others don't.
