I've been ringing up friends who might be on their own at Christmas and have arranged further phone calls for people who will be. Several of my friends (we're all getting on a bit now and many have lost partners) would have usually gone to stay with family but are avoiding that this year, so we're all trying to make sure that no-one feels left out.
