Methotrexate

1st week on methotrexate all was going well, 2nd week rash appeared on my legs same rash as I had with sulfasalazine but not as bad, phoned my ra nurse no call back had a telephone call from hospital about my routine blood monitoring 16/10 had been cancelled due to shortage I explained that I needed to be monitored i was then told unless I had urgent on my blood form then I wouldn't be seen,I also explained that all my blood forms had been pre written out by my consultant but still told the same ,I was told when I started methotrexate I would need to be having my two week blood monitoring,

So I decided not to take my second dose last week ,18/10 had a phone call on friday to see if I had manged to get my blood test from the week before 🤷‍♀️ I explained to her no and that I was due to go this friday 30/10 ,so my question is has anyone else experienced a rash with methotrexate , I have continued with my prednisolone and folic acid thanks

I did have a rash but after 3 weeks still on MTX it went away. I did start taking anti histamine for a little while too. So maybe worth discussing with GP/RA clinic.

I’m on methotrexate and had a rash on my belly that itched terribly. I thought I had shingles even though had had the Shingrix vaccine. The dermatologist biopsied it and said it was a type associated with an allergic reaction or eczema. He gave me an ointment and it went away. I’m still on MTX and it hasn’t come back. Still not sure if it was associated with the MXT.
