Hi Beth

I’m not on Warfarin but I’ve just started taking Apixaban which is also a blood thinning medication. Why, are you concerned about the combination?

Hiya Beth

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am on rivaroxaban blood thinning tablet. Only problem is I can't take ibuprofen and other similar drugs while on rivaroxaban. Hope this helps.

Hello

I'm also on riveroxaban for AF, also have RA - recent flare in hands. Not on any RA meds as yet. Yesterday saw GPand she said it was OK to try Ibuprofen Gel on hands. I was surprised it seemed to work and I had a good night. I've to contact rheumatology to request appointment. Previously local pharmacist said ibu gel was a no no. Anyone else tried the gel with anti coagulants?

I've been on warfarin for years for a hereditary blood disorder. I'm also on methotrexate 25mg weekly injections and Enbrel weekly injections. The bummer of it is I can't take NSAIDS and even acetaminophen (paracetamol) will cause extra bruising if I take it more than a few times a week. It also means steroids can cause more bruising. Other than that, it hasn't been a problem or interfered with RA meds.

Thank you everyone I have a friend she said that the doctor had diagnosed her with rheumatoid arthritis and because she is on warfarin the doctor had told her she can’t take anything for the arthritis and she hasn’t been transferred to the rheumatoid clinic either 🤷‍♀️

No but take Riveroxaban, it like Apixaban does not thin the blood but reduces its ability to clot. Its great and no problems at all.
