Hi all. I have got a telephone interview tomorrow for my pip renewal. Does anyone know what sort of questions they ask you.

Generally they go over your application confirming what you have written and ask more in-depth questions. Answer the questions as if it is your worst day. Mention that it is a progressive disease. Good luck

Some good words of advice from J1707, wishing you luck for tomorrow.

They question you about the info you wrote on your form, rather like being cross examined in a court scenario. If it's not too late, read about it on the Benefits and Work website.

@jaq1 My interview was very easy on the phone but very strict questions and you had to answer the question brief but full of impact is my best description. They might be typing the other end hence brief answers. It was very much based on what I had said in the form and how it was impacting me so dressing/bathing/cooking ability/walking distance/work life/social life and mental health.

I did find it at one point upsetting as I was realising the changes in my life and had a few tears but they stayed calm and let me have a moment. My husband listened in so we put the phone on speaker and she heard a few of his replies too.

Make sure yuo remind yourself of the truly bad days when describing the worse points.

Still it is on the phone asking questions whether a renewal or not it will be a similar process based on the info they give you. Anyway lets hope it went well .

Mine started by saying "I'm going to try to help you" but then her questions seemed to be trying to trip me up. She asked if I had pets, I have a dog, then she asked loads of questions about who walks the dog. I said my husband about 10 times. She moved on to something else then came back to who walks the dog again. Like I might give different answers.

My advice is be careful and keep your guard up.

I said in my form I felt anxious going to new places. Her report said I didn't sound anxious on the phone so I can't be anxious. Of course I wasnt anxious in my own home!

However I got standard living. So I was happy with that. Maybe I should have got more, but I'm not gonna fight it.

Good luck.

Your questions were similar to my f2f. They don’t understand the disease just because we have good days not as many as we would like but the bad days !!!!! No I can’t walk the dog no I can’t leave the house no I can’t cook or clean or walk up the stairs. It’s black and white as far as they are concerned. This bloody disease is certainly not black and white. So it’s important to answer as a bad day
