Ouch

Not particularly painful just niggly when I walk .. or should I say limp I’m not very mobile today. I think it’s the humidity. Thunder storms due today

I can't put what I said originally 'cos it was rude but, blimey! That looks so swollen and sore. A cool footbath with epsom salts?

Think we should be a trio as my knees and feet from the ankles downward are the same too. This humidity is no good and it's another 'Sue Ellen' (Swelling) day like you. Take care and sending some supportive wishes your way x

What are we like 🙄 x

Just read a few more posts and it's looking more like an orchestra of aching, swelling limbs and joints! Take care and rest today as it looks really puffed up x

Yeah the novelty is wearing off. Sofa is now the shape of my very large bottom 😁

My feet and ankles look like that a lot but it's because of Amlodipine not RA (I hope). The only difference is that sometimes my toes swell too and I can't wiggle them. You need to rest them and put them up. Do you find that your skin is very dry where the swelling is?

in reply to springcross

My toes are swollen and stiff and the skin tight and dry. I showed my Gp and rheumatologist last year when it happened they said flare and weather but last year lasted 4 month’s

My GP told me to put lots of moisturiser on them. I think if it gets too dry, it can crack and possible let infections into the cracks. I use the tubs of thick E45 cream and that keeps the skin supple.

in reply to springcross

👍 thanks i use Epsom salts to bring swelling down but it makes my skin dryer

My swelling stopped once I stopped taking the amlodipine- was taking it for Raynaud's. Was offered a different one but decided to go without . No problems with swelling since then

I took it for seven months with no swelling (for high BP) but had a nasty fall down a couple of stairs and the swelling started after that. The nurse practitioner said it was probably triggered by the fall. I've since stopped it and the swelling almost disappeared but then I had to restart it as it is the only one that controls my BP and it returned. I put up with it now just to keep my BP lower but if it gets too bad, I will have to stop again.

I think I'd ring 111 as it might be Edema as the dents have left a big impression better safe than sorry.

That look so painful and uncomfortable. Does the swelling go down a bit if you can manage to rest with your feet up?

My feet are blowing up tonight too convinced weird weather one minute warm next rain etc.

in reply to

It’s got to be Dee .. humid and heat = swelling for me. Sudden change in temp drop especially over night = painful stiff joints.. I don’t need the BBC weather forecast 😂

in reply to

Thank god I still have ankles I said this morning........not anymore!

We are sooo attractive 😁

You have my empathy. Mine have been similar for a little over a year. Diuretics didn’t help, echocardiography didn’t reveal a possible cause, support stockings made no difference. Sorry I’m not being of help but maybe you could try putting them up, doesn't help mine but it may yours. Trouble is life happens & you can't be having your feet up while it does can you? 😐

in reply to nomoreheels

Thanks. Like you tried all the above they go up and down of their free will and with it stiffness. Noone has an answer. I had it for 8 months last year but poor you over a year!! Sick of sitting around .. hey ho

Troubling isn't it? My legs haven't been as bad since I posted my pic but my ankles haven’t changed in a year. The only saving grace is they aren't bothering me, it's not painful, & it's not affecting my feet any more than usual. We've to be grateful for small mercies. ☺️

in reply to VeronicaF

How can our bodies suddenly morph like that? I’m blaming the weather

Heat has my ankle and foot all puffy and as soon as the weather cools off the swelling subsides. Seems anything over 20 degrees has it freaking out!!
