Congratulations for building a true Rheumatoid Arthritis health movement in HealthUnlocked!

Whenever you write a post, ask a question or reply to someone, you are touching the lives of other people with Rheumatoid Arthritis by spreading the benefit of shared, personal health experiences. And beyond that you have built a resource that will benefit people for years to come.

It's been wonderful to see the community thrive. Keep up the great, supportive network you started!

Feel free to comment below and let us know what you think about the achievement.

Nice to have another online group of like minded people to communicate with. Hopefully we'll be able to support each other.

Thanks Simone, we are really pleased that so many people are using our community and hope we continue to grow and help more and more people with rheumatoid arthritis!

Best wishes,

Ruth Grosart

Well done NRAS. This is a brilliant site and has helped me and so many others. It's great to know I am not alone. Everyone who replies with suggestions or advice are always genuinely supportive and concerned for each others welfare.

You are not going to believe this....my HU has suddenly turned into Spanish...or it maybe Portuguese as it keeps on saying Obligado!

Sounds like you've caught the language options at the bottom right of the page (black bar - English/Spanish/Portuguese I think, I'm on my iPhone but think it's right) & gone onto Portuguese, easy to do being the last on the list. Just tap on English again & it should revert back.

Somebody just told me to click on the blue

Avatar top right on this page...choose configurations ...I managed to change the language using that.

For PM's there is a contact us page ....try rhat!

Or if someone has mistakenly clicked to ban you...you wouldn't be able to send them a PM...try PMing some one else first...try me,

I haven't banned you....if it won't send, then try

HU tech support..I THINK....it's. support@healthunlocked.com

Duh! Can't help if you don't know how you managed to end up on a 4 year old post to ask a question under my reply. 🙈

I just clicked on my hub....& there it was....I didn't notice it was 4yrs old at first! I wasn't even on the site then!

But this site sounds like it needs an MOT today!.

I had just been in configuration to lose the Portuguese site, I,m on an iPad, not a phone....so I haven't got the Option on btm of page.

Most odd. Seems gremlins are at large. So are you still Portuguese or back to English now?

AgedCrone profile image
AgedCrone in reply to nomoreheels

I'm back in English now thanks...it was most odd.......all the headings were in Portuguese, & instead of reply/send it said Envar but the posts/replies were in English!

I think I need a rest from the excitement HU today!

nomoreheels profile image

Oh good. Yes it only translates headings not text. Off to lay down my weary head now, suggest you do same! 😴

Well done to all! This site has been so helpful and supportive in so many ways and I for one would have struggled a lot more with my recent RA diagnosis and with making sense of all the medical appointments/details. I would definitely have felt so much more alone and mentally fragile without this resource so it's a Hugh THANK YOU! From Ali :) :) :)

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments! It's great to hear how helpful the site is to you and we think its a really important resource! You are all really supportive of each other and help keep the site going so thank you for your support in this.

Best wishes,

Ruth

I think they've been with HU since 2011. I happened upon it when living abroad so that would be about 2010 but it was in a different format from how it Is now. I was rootling round the internet & found it again but I could only read the unlocked posts as for some reason it wouldn't allow me to join at that time. My Rheumy has had NRAS posters on her consulting room walls from time to time but of course I was already a member!

A happy New Year to you Mary, hope it's better one for you. x

hi just wondered if u have heard of having blood pressure taken over the top of jumper sleeve ity would be grateful mary xx

nomoreheels profile image
nomoreheels in reply to mary4444

I never have had it taken over clothing Mary because when I have an appointment with my GP, Practice nurse or Rheumy, or any other appointments where I'm likely to be examined or have my BP taken I always wear something loose or that can be easily taken off so my arm can be bared. This is only because it makes sense to me rightly or wrongly that a more accurate reading can be taken when the cuff is on bare skin. I admit though I've been told before by my Rheumy nurse when lifting my sleeve for that I don't need to but have done anyway.

I can understand though it's more likely to be taken over clothing nowadays, particularly in a male GP/female patient situation & he doesn't want to ask his patient to strip off so he can take it properly but do question where did the trust go?!

Has this happened to you & did you have an inaccurate reading do you think?

mary4444 profile image
mary4444 in reply to nomoreheels

thank you nomoreheels i didnt think it was right been having probs with high blood pressure for long time so i am always being checked first time it was done that way and it was a woman doctor also she said blood pressure was fine which very unusual i am not worried about it more curious anyway will be back on 23rd jan for blood tests and they will check it again hope u r doing well and not in any pain thanks again mary xx

nomoreheels profile image
nomoreheels in reply to mary4444

Then maybe wear something loose so that it can be taken on your bare arm from now. My BP has in the past been bob on, even through all my fertility treatments, though they were always done with the mobile stand sphygs you generally see in hospitals. Lately though since starting leflunomide I've had some odd readings though my last one was acceptable, still not my norm so pretty sure it's affecting my BP which is fine as it's a common side effect, as long as an eye's kept on it that is!

I am bothered with a bit of pain today but it's easing as the day goes on with heat on it. Hope you're ok. x

mary4444 profile image
mary4444 in reply to nomoreheels

yes u r right next time i will go in with my sleeve rolled up lol its funny really rhumy dont say much on bp and they always write on my form to be expected but doc takes it more serious so it probely to do with ra or medication but they keep there eye on us anyway with all our blood tests sorry to hear u been in pain today glad its easing off now yes i ok morning is the worst thank u once again for your help take care hope doggie is well mary xx
