Breast Pain Advice Please

I am experiencing horrendous breast pain, like I am being stabbed. It seems to radiate into the centre of my chest and back. It's been persistent now for 18 hours, including all through the night. My GP suggests it's hormonal but it's awful and I can't stand the pain anymore. Any help / advice?
