I am so fortunate to be able to work from home. Usually my job role involves meeting patients who are either newly diagnosed or their sight has reduced so much it is impacting on their daily life. I discuss all the support and services available and offer practical and emotional support. I am still able to ring my patients and do this which is great. Of course understandable so many services are not able to offer what they usually do at the moment.
However I am also assisting ringing around the 5000 plus people we have on our database to see if they are able to access shopping and medications etc and to have a chat with them. My head feels like it will explode with all this COVID 19 and the implications it is having for us all. So much conflicting information many people who I would of thought should have received shielding letters due to their health conditions just not and not knowing where to turn. I am so pleased to be able to assist the people who need it but it can take a good three weeks for anything to happen sometimes. Each council running things slightly differently too.
Feeling completely frazzled after a day’s work and so blinking useless too.
Onwards and upwards as they say.
Sorry for the moan, just feeling a little emotional after a day trying to get services for people. Everyone is doing the best they can.

At no point apologise! You are trying your hardest with such a difficult and undefined path right now. I had a work meet non mandatory but what came out was the mental health of staff as many struggling with changes to the norm.
So go and sit on a balcony or in your garden and just have a few moments for you!x
Moan away it’s what we are here for. I find a good moan gets it off your chest and you’re ready to start again. You are doing a very important job these people need you and you make a positive difference to their lives .. time out now recharge
Please don't apologies as you are working in a pressurised situation which there appears to be as you say running differently in some councils and areas. Your head must be mashed and frazzled! Just remember you are doing your best in the circumstances we are in. Take some deep breaths and have a few moments to gather and ground yourself. Also be proud of what you are doing for others and providing support to them as you say when not as many services are available to them right now. Some supportive wishes being sent your way too from me, Take care x
The intentions are good but the follow through is not.
Lots of people who have received the shielding letter have been unable to access home deliveries if they have not previously registered on a supermarket website.
Our local volunteer 'street monitor' has difficulty doing any deliveries as everything takes so long, e.g. a three-quarter's hour wait queuing outside the pharmacy, then not all the items ordered are in the package, resulting in a phone call and another visit with a long wait.
