So back in January my liver decided it wasn’t happy me being on the biologics, rheumatologist stopped the biologics and my tablet medication and did blood tests and an US scan.

Fast forward to March, had a call from the nurse beginning of week 1 to say they’ve spoken to the rheumatologist and I’m to go back on the biologics, but the guy who sets it up is away so will ring back next week. That’s unfortunately when all the hospitals decided to stop all non essential treatments due to this pandemic.

Now I’m stuck not on any treatment at all. I don’t know what to do or what I think you could suggest, but I guess I’m less at risk by not being on the immune suppressants right? But more susceptible to my RA attacking me instead.

Just aching and the fatigue is back but I know what it was like before the biologics, just worried.

You don’t say what tablet medication you were on. Was it MTX? As you could ask to go back on that perhaps?

Tablets were hydroxychloroquine and the Sulfasalazine. Mtx didn’t agree with me, it’s why we went up to the biologics.

Have you spoken to anybody in your rheumy team? I’m sure as you are in the system you should be able to get your Biologic treatment..if it’s an infusion the hospital pharmacist only has to authorise it.

As has already been said I would ring your rheumy team, they will assume you’re ok unless you tell them you’re not. They are still treating people and they said they’d ring back and haven’t so chase them up. 🤞🏻 it’s all sorted soon.

So advice was; If I can manage the symptoms of my RA with tablets then to not have the biologics as it would put me in the high risk category.
