I liked the one that said that the over 60's are vulnerable to the virus but then again must work to 68 in some cases as so fit and healthy. Honestly my friend a nurse is 70 and still working but its great that grants for nurses are back according to the BBC this morning.
My dedicated granddaughter in in her last year as a student nurse, no help whatsoever in that time. Car parking in her placement hospitals has to be paid by her. I still applaud that new students don’t have to go through this, but how shortsighted, especially with the current situation, so many have had to drop out due to economic reasons, especially the older students. X
I know it was an appalling mistake to stop the grants ! I think car parking charges as well is an insult to dedicated nursing staff. x Not sure if the grants are enough but its a step in the right direction at last.
I’m not sure, but anything must be better, her fees, £9000, first year and last two £9500 a year. She has been able to live at home, so didn’t need that element, but has had to have a part time job too, working in a pub due to the shifts, the first two years and this year as a HCA. Oh well, I am so proud of her, and all the other students who have coped so well. X
And so you should be my son also bright but not a lot of common sense went to uni and studied beer ! No he didn't really but they do have to work hard and he also had a job but didn't live at home so it cost us a bit too. Student loans are no joke.
Love your reply, I have a grandson too at uni, same age but lives away from home, luckily my eldest son and d.i.l can afford to support him. Just wondering how things will pan out this year re exams and graduation. X
That's on the money about how I feel.
