Methotrexate/cystitis

Hi! I wondered if anyone whose on methotrexate injections plus hydroxychloriquine has suffered with cystitis flare ups?? I’ve been taking the drugs for 8 years now and apart from a very rare flare I have had no issues until the last year! I’ve now been told after countless cystitis flares that I have interstitial cystitis and there is nothing that can help me! One doctor mentioned it could be the methotrexate that has ruined my bladder lining? So now wondering if it would be worth coming of the drugs to let my bladder rejuvenate obviously I would not do this without speaking to my specialist but would like to go and see him armed with a bit of info!

Hi pixie I had it years ago and had to get a gel put through my bladder every month, it cleared after about 8 months then I got RD some people have no luck xxx

I took both those for 2yrs 5 months without cystitis. Leflunomide caused tender bladder and UTIs though.

I use D-Mannose now, if my bladder starts playing up.

Never had cystitis - taken MTX orally and now injectable for 40 years and take HCQ.
