I haven't yet but I was going to ask my Rheumy when I see him next month. Just seen the news about CBD oil may be off the shelves within a year as only products which have submitted a valid novel food application will be allowed to remain on the market.

If you put CBD in the search box top right you’ll get previous posts about it

In the two years+ before I got diagnosed, when both my shoulders would wake me up multiple times a night, sometimes hourly, I put CBD cream on them. This would quiet them down long enough for me to fall back to sleep. I'd still wake up in the next hour or two, but it sometimes gave me at least some blocks of rest.

Now that I'm on MTX, the shoulder pain is almost 100% gone and certainly never wakes me up any longer. I've tried the cream on my tender finger joints and my problematic inner left ankle, but it never seems to do anything with those.

So, my theory is that perhaps the act of getting upright for 10 or so minutes and massaging a lovely smelling cream onto them was really what made it work at all, not necessarily the CBD in it.

And even though it's a very pretty cream with great ingredients like shea butter and lavender, I'm not using it until my next blood tests. I read recently that they're looking into whether or not CBD can raise liver markers. My test results were normal in January, but the liver markers were up a teeny tick and I would be interested to see if they go down.

Of course that tick could have been from the daily ibuprofen I stopped soon after that Jan blood test.

Still, I've decided I should wait on all but the most benign "helpers" that aren't prescribed until further research.

I tried CBD for a few days, but other than gaining a headache and nausea it did nothing for my RD.

Hi Marie

Yes I have. I started using cannabis oil 3 months ago, hit and miss and gradually increasing my dosage. I have done this with my rheumy s knowledge although he wasn’t convinced it would work by a long stretch.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with RA neg/inflammatory arthritis. My CRP was 150 ESR 60 and white cell count all wrong. I was so ill I was hospitalised for 3 weeks, started on 50mg prednesilone daily and 20mg mtx which made me sick, mouth ulcers, hair loss, nausea, aches, headaches, just horrible and was changed to Arava which was as bad and I stopped them both 4 months later before surgery and never started again.

I’ve had bilateral knee replacements and an ankle replacement since then and am still recovering as I needed to re learn how to walk having been on crutches for over a year. I survived on prednisone and strong pain killers.

Now the cannabis oil, I just got the results of my full blood test and, YAY all normal except vitamin D deficiency. That’s huge. My chronic fatigue has improved, pain and brain fog is better, anxiety gone, depression better and I’m sleeping much better as well. My body seems to be repairing itself! I’m blessed not to have to work as I’m retired and could just rest and that’s just about all I’ve done and eat well.

When my rheumy rang me yesterday with the results, I said Cannabis oil is working, he couldn’t refute it. I’m currently down to 1.5mg pred daily and will reduce again in a week or so. Im tapering off the strong pain relief and take 1 Panadol and 1 ibuprofen for pain as well. My other ankle isn’t good and will need replacing, I’m trying not to think of that atm.

It’s been a long haul, I know white bread, eggs and rice don’t agree with me, eat a little it’s not too bad, eat a scrambled eggs then bread pudding for dessert is overload. I’ve started my vitamin D today so see what that does.

Sorry for the long post but in answer to your question and after much research and usage I would say that cannabis oil definitely helps with this disease and I dare say many others. All the best to you on this difficult journey and I hope my post has been insightful and helpful 🌺

Yes, I did. I took it for a few weeks and it didn’t seem to help at all...

Maybe it needs longer to get to work

I've read that cpd oil may help the pain but will not stop the destruction of the joints

Yes I tried for a few months ensuring that I had the natural cbd oil. It left me with a very dry mouth but did nothing else for me.

I recently received CBD oil from a company supposedly recommended by Mary Berry and Judi Dench. The dosage was very vague. I am since told this recommendation by the above two is a scam. I have tried to contact the company but got no reply.

I tried cbd oil as suggested by my son who used it after a 2 major back operations. But the taste was vial and the dosage so vague I stopped taking it. Now the latest news would put me off. Sorry but you see I'm not much of a fan of it. Also I wasn't sure if it would clash with methotrexate.

I've tried several brands but so far my hope has been in vain. A distant family member swears by it for her cancer, but this is prescription from the US. I think the stuff we get in the UK isn't strong enough or good enough quality to make a difference.

Tried it... Both cream and tincture but did not help at all for me unfortunately. A very expensive disappointment sadly.

High strength CANNABIS not hemp CBD oil helps inflammation..proven.

Full spectrum cannabis oil has high THC as well as hundreds of other cannabinoids including CBD and helps everything.

There is a lot of misinformation and scam packaging on CBD oil..it us usually hemp oil if you read carefully which is not really medicinal good for general health though.

Proper medical grade cannabis oil is what is needed to treat illness.

Lots of great information coming from Israel where it is readily available to anyone needing it and is tailored for the specific illness. They lead the world in my opinion.

Im in Australia and medical cannabis is available but is unaffordable for most as the greedy middle men are involved.

Hi there, I have chronic RA. I use THC and swear by it. I sleep and I don't take painkillers. It stays in my body throughout most of the day. By the evening it's time for the next dose.

When I am not on the THC, I sleep max 2-3 hrs on and off. My pain is unbearable. The painkillers are out. I have tried CBD, it's definitely not for me.

My Dr actually recommend that I go on it. Love her for that.

Hope it works for you.... a suggestion is that you take it about an hour before you want to sleep, don't take it to late as it will definitely affect you then the next day. Give it a chance to work for you, honestly a game changer.

Not what you're looking for?
