Hi everyone - loads of you have been really supportive since I joined and just wanted to update and say tomorrow I have an appointment with my wonderful Rheumy nurse to discuss getting onto methotrexate. I have been reading some peoples experience with stomach issues/hair loss and (perhaps most horrifically for me...) finding cuppas taste horrible!
But someone commented on one thread and said 'I want to participate in life, not just exist and methotrexate enabled me to do that' and I thought yes! this is me, I'm so sick of just scraping by...
Anyway, watch this space and thank you all for helping me move forward <3

Woohoo hope it goes well and make sure you have a list of questions or things that are hurting so you don't forget anything. I am week 16 ish and now on injections but have reduced all other meds. Not perfect on mtx but it is doing something.
Thank you that's great to hear. I think i'm going to ask if I can go straight for injections tbh as I do have a sensitive stomach. I hope you keep on improving, I'm so ready to be able to do normal things again - even washing up and hoovering haha
I still work at the moment but down to 3 days a week and even then its hard going. I decided to give up on weekly house work for time being. However I am happy that I am off steroids, pregablin, reduced pain meds too last week so to me that is a plus. Does not mean for me MTX is making me feel great feel like I was kicked by a horse after 1st injection BUT I am pushing ahead thro the pain barrier as I am hoping to come out the other side in a much better place.
I'm a full time single mum with a 3 and 6 year old, and we barely scrape by at the moment. I had some home help in place but then we moved and i'm still trying to find some...It's definitely a 1 step forward 2 back journey for me, but I just keep trying and stay as positive as I can. This isn't how I imagined motherhood to be though, that's for sure.

Patience is my work in progress!
Good luck it may take time but you will get there .
Do ask to go straight to injections. I did, successfully when I expained why. I'm now 3-4 months down the road and certainly I feel that MTX has really beaten down the fatique and is now making some difference to the joints. No instant fixes but it is making a significant difference. After adjusting to the meds, I have refound my love of tea, I found - three ginger tea- a good filler in, as I did go off tea for a while. No change to my hair (so far!). Good luck for tomorrow.
