Hello
Has anyone with RA experienced any problems with inflammation/infection of the gallbladder (no gallstones) and raised LFTs?
Couls this be related to RA?
Thanks in advance!

This study concluded that: Women with rheumatoid arthritis may have a predisposition to gallstones that can manifest in middle or older age compared with women in the general population. This situation could be related to chronic inflammation and HDL metabolism.
But I couldn't find anything about inflammation without gallstones on a quick search , but it seems likely that we would have an increased risk. There was just one case report (don't like those much as it's so difficult to generalise) which you might like to read: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
Not my gallbladder but my LFT'S were raised dramatically and I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis which is now under control thanks to a wonderful liver specialist. I also have rheumatoid arthritis.
