After being on Methotextrate for10 years it’s not working for me any more. About to start on Baricitnib and feeling very apprehensive due to reading so many bad reviews. It seems there are so many side effects -nausea, weight gain, fatigue. Has anyone had a good experience on it?

I've had a bit of a start / stop relationship with Baricitinib, my main issue is with cold sores, sore mouth and I had hand, foot and mouth disease. I've dropped from 4 to 2 mgs a day and seem to be doing better.

I've lost weight ( good) although the literature says weight gain is the issue, I was and possibly still am a little fatigued with it, but it is low level.

My joints are easier, less swollen, tenosynovitis less troublesome and I just feel a bit better. It is difficult to say how much it helps, but when I stop taking it I notice I'm not as well. Vague I know but it's how I feel !

I had three months of it Mmrr and I ran out and the pharmacy hadn't any and I was without it for ten days. I knew I hadn't got it in my system. I haven't had any side effects so far. xxx

I've been on Baricitinib since February and it's working better for me than all the drugs I have tried in past 15 years. In the first few weeks I did suffer with cold sores and I did gain a little weight but everything quickly settled down. I take 4mgs just before bed and have not experienced the nausea that others mention.

I still suffer with fatigue but no where near the levels I experienced prior to starting Baricitinib.

Generally I find it to be the "kindest" drug I have taken so good luck I hope it works for you.

There have been quite a lot of personal accounts of this relatively new drug - if you put it into the search box the previous posts should come up.

Several of the people in our Gwent NRAS group have been changed onto this and so far (about 12-18months I think) everyone seems pleased with it.
