Hi, I’ve been on lefluonomide for about 8mths now and I’ve noticed my hair falling out a bit. It’s not a concern at the moment but I’m just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Ta 😊
Hair loss: Hi, I’ve been on lefluonomide for about... - NRAS
Hair loss
I’ve experienced this on Hydroxy and MTX, but I wear my hair pretty short, so it wasn’t an issue for me, but I can understand that’s an unpleasant experience for others. Leflunomide is sitting in front of me as I type - instructions are - hair loss can be prevented by stopping medication - so it’s the usual swings and roundabouts - keep medication or lose hair *waves hands in air* - however, I don’t believe that the hair loss due to RA DMARDS occurs at chemotherapy type levels (ie.,s baldness) so perhaps your Rheumy could give you some guidance? Cheers
Yes I have short hair too so I’m not too bothered, as long as it doesn’t get worse. My RA is under control so shouldn’t really complain 🙄😄
I think it is common on DMARDs. I certainly noticed it with mine. And lots of skin cells loose too, like whole body dandruff, on LEF. Now Amgevita is doing the same. There’s always a price to pay to slow disease progress. But I hope you are recovering from other health issues now. 🙂
I've been on livelihoods for about two years now. My hair has thinned slightly but it's not too bad. My problem is my fingernails, they used to be strong and healthy. Now they have a red horizontal line just under the tips. They are now soft and break easily. Anyone else have this problem?
Luflonimide, not livelihoods. Spell check!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have been on Oral Methotrexate and Prednisone for about 8 yrs. and have had a serious hair lose. Just started Rasuvo last week (injectionable Methotrexate ) and saw the Dr's. nurse, she suggested trying Viviscal tablets. You take 2 a day, not cheap, but I"m desperate. Just starting them today----will let you know in about 2/3 months if they help. I have my fingers crossed------LOL----Good luck to you, I know some people have hair lose in the beginning and then they settle down and are fine. And then there are a few like me that don't seem to adjust as well.I think we are few in number so don't distress.
Hi i was just wondering if Leflunomide affected your stomach. Like in having stomach cramps and Nausea
I was only on them for a week and I ended up in Hospital because they thought I had a blockage.
When the Doctors in the Hospital found out that I was taking Leflunomide they stopped them straight away.
Since then they have found out that i have a problem with my Gallbladder and it has to be removed.
Just wondering now if it was the Leflunomide causing my stomach cramps or my Gallbladder..
Don't seem to be able to take any
Rheumatoid Medication. They always affect me one way or the other .
I wouldn't mind my hair falling out as long as it got rid of some of the pain, because at the moment I'm not taking anything for it 😭.
Take Care.
I have very thin hair, it's because my medication is too strong, I was told by my Dermatologist , that they can't do anything, so I was put in touch with a wig Place in Paddington. So when going out I were a wig, most people can't tell I am wearing a wig, as I have the same hair colour. Ask your GP if he can refer you to the Dermatologist, at least they can help. All the best.
Salfasaizine, Leflodomine, hydroxcloquine ,lansprrazole, and many others, can't remember the names
