Risk Assessment for me

There were moments of wanting to put my head down and cry and another trying really hard not to belly laugh.

My boss wanted to do my risk assess which was fine but we got to his section marked 'fatigue' and he had me at 12 (close to death level) trying to explain that if I got fatigue again like I had 6 weeks ago, I have learnt not to go into work. SO the possibility of fainting at the top of the stairs and taking me and anyone on the stairwell out was probably low.......

He replied but Dee if you feel tired.....'no it's fatigue a whole different story'.

We then got to me being in the kitchen and we had another close call of me fainting in kitchen and deep fat fryers.

IT was a long morning with me running out after the finance part of the meeting for a much needed caffeine shot!

There is indeed a difference between RD fatigue brought on by simply being active like anyone who has full health, and normal tiredness.

It’s like trying to explain the difference between normal reactions to change (you dash to the supermarket with a limited time slot, just adequate to grab all you need but they’ve moved every section) and eg autistic spectrum reactions to change. The first of those is just normal annoyance, the second an awful change to routine that was secure.

Normal fatigue and tiredness can be easily remedied. But RD fatigue is crippling, wipes you out for hours or even a couple of weeks if not careful to pace yourself!

I just had to quit all trying to lead a normal life within a couple of months of RA striking. You are doing so well to keep a job!

It was just funny to me to try and explain fatigue as it is so hard to explain.

Unless you suffer fatigue then you don’t understand. Fatigue disables you , your limbs are heavy your mental capacity is diminished. You know something is going on around you but you cannot participate or connect. Some days 2 mouthfuls of food and I need to lie down. Driving is a no no , not only I physically can’t do it but I would be a danger same applies to work. I wish there was another word for it as it’s just too general.
