Vomiting and diarrhoea with azathioprine

Hi all, hope everyone is well?

So I’ve been up for the last half an hour with diarrhoea and have been violently sick.

Literally an hour after taking azathioprine!

Has anyone else experienced this?

No, I have been taking Azathioprine for about 20 years, and it. has always worked well for me. I would phone my GP or clinic nurse, in the morning, and ask for some urgent advice. If you are worried, in the meantime, phone 111, or even 999, if you are seriously worried

I would speak to your rheumy nurse or GP. Is this your first dose ?

Azathioprine certainly makes my gut work faster and I do feel sick on it constantly. But diarrhoea and vomiting suggests another cause, so I would seek further advice.

No and been taking for a while, might it be a bug and you did take with food ?
